It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown

We rented "It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" for Caleb's Halloween party about 3 weeks ago. Since then, he has watched it every single day. My Netflix program is an old, 1 at a time, two per month for 4.99 that isn't offered anymore. I keep wanting to upgrade it, but never have. Now may be the time, or I will never get another movie. Caleb just can't get enough of the Peanuts gang in It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown.

It's so cute because he has started reciting lines from the movie. Yesterday he was playing with his trains and I heard him murmur, "I wouldn't want to be accused... of taking part in a rumble." Which is Sally's line from the movie when she asks if trick or treating is legal. He has also been saying some classic Charlie Brown lines such as, "good grief" and "I can't stand it".

There is an extra short on the disc called, "It's Magic, Charlie Brown". One show plays seamlessly into the next and I am pretty sure that he thinks they are the same show. In this episode, Snoopy turns Charlie Brown invisible. Caleb thinks this is hilarious. Especially when Snoopy tries to make him visible again. He covers Charlie brown with a sheet, ties a neck tie on him and gives him boots. Charlie Brown ends up looking like an executive ghost. It scares his sister, which always makes Caleb howl with laughter.

There is just something about these Peanuts movies that enchant children. I remember adoring "A Charlie Brown Christmas" when I was a little kid, and I'm sure that Caleb will love it this year as well. I really enjoy being able to relive these movies and holiday memories with Caleb. When you have a little one, it's as if everything is new again.

Mt. Laundry

Work has been so busy lately that it was really started to effect my life. I am spending so much time at work that I am having a hard time keeping up with my house. I have been slowly chipping away at the dishes, and I have been able to keep the bathroom and kitchen clean - thank goodness. I guess over all the house is presentable, but I can't seem to make it any better than that.

There is a lot of deeper cleaning that needs to get done. I need to shampoo the carpets. Caleb's toy room has been ransacked so many times that the toy bins need to be reorganized. I need to dust the living room. If it doesn't stop raining, I will never be able to mow my lawn. You can see how the list goes on and on!

Last weekend I dedicated to LAUNDRY. What I usually do is start a rotation. Fold a load while one is in the dryer and another is in the washer. I think that's how most people do it, right? It seems to make the most sense. Well for SOME reason, that I can't think of now, I switched things up over the weekend. I just started washing and drying and washing and drying. Instead of folding and putting away, I used the time the clothes were in the machines to do other things. I polished the wooden furniture, I scrubbed the bathtub, I scrubbed the stovetop, I cleaned the vent about the oven... you get the idea. I finally started to make progress on all of those little odds and ends things. I was able to declutter and organize.

The problem? Those loads of laundry never got folded. I think I was able to fold about two loads of them and that was it. So now, in my living room, there are about 4 loads of clean laundry that need to be folded and put away. So that is what I am going to do right now. I am going to fold laundry and put it away while I watch Shawn play - guess what - Left 4 Dead 2.

Stop and Smell the Scentsy

My Scentsy warmer smells up my whole house like clean laundry, I would like you to know. I have it in my bedroom, and I can smell it throughout my entire home. I am growing deeper and deeper in love with it as the moments tic by. I thought one post would be enough, but I had to share this with you.

The smell that is wafting through my home is so good that it's distracting. Here are a few things that have happened only because I stopped to take a deep breath and smell the Scentsy:

Forgot where I put my purse - it was hanging on a hook in the bathroom
Forgot to pack up my computer
Forgot why I entered my room - did I come in here for something, or was I just following the scent of clean laundry?
Forgot to put on pants - at least I never left the house.

My room is so cozy and relaxing now that all I want to do is lie on my bed with the lights off. I want to get cozy next to the warm glow and fresh smell from my Scentsy. I'm serious people, I am totally in love. I think I am going to pick out another one for my living room.

I gave my mom the Lotus warmer and she loves it! She put it front and center on her fireplace mantle. In her ranch style home, her fireplace and her bedroom are on opposite sides of the house and as far apart as they can be without crossing the property line. I am in her room with the door shut, and I can still smell the warm and calming scent of Vanilla Suede coming from the Scentsy warmer.

Scentsy

You know what I don't like about scented candles? It doesn't matter how long they have been lit, or how much fragrance they have brought to your room; at some point you have to blow them out. When that time comes, there is always that unavoidable smell of burnt wick with a curl of stinky black smoke. I really hate that smell, it ruins the whole experience for me.

I have finally found the perfect alternative to scented candles! They are called Scentsy and I love them! It's an electric warmer that slowly melts a scented brick of wax. There are dozens and dozens of warmers and scents to choose from.

Right now I am using the cherry blossom warmer with a scent called "Clean Breeze" that smells like fresh dried laundry. It makes my whole room smell like a dryer sheet... Which is great because as I type this I spy my 90lb pitbull / boxer mix has snuck onto my bed and I guarantee you that he does not smell like laundry.

I'm suprised how quickly the warmer has started working. I can smell the fragrance wafting from the other room already and I just turned it on as I started to type this. I am probably doing about 65 WPM right now, so go ahead and do the math, you're more than welcome!

I am just about to leave and head to my mom's to deliver the "Lotus" warmer with "Plumeria" scent that I got as a suprised for her! I will post more about her fabulous reaction.
